It was an honor to get the chance to be invited to the International Leadership Forum that was held at one of the prestigious Capitol Hill Club, a private clubhouse with its inception, members included the nation’s most influential people – Presidents and Vice Presidents, GOP Members of Congress, Governors, state party leaders and influential entities everywhere.
The Forum began with opening remarks from IGAPA board members and other industry leaders.
Followed by panel discussion exploring the leadership styles and strategies of international political leaders, with a focus on the lessons that public affairs professionals can learn from their successes and failures.
Next, was The Women’s Leadership forum.
This panel discussion focused on the challenges and opportunities facing women leaders in the public affairs industry, and how organizations can promote gender equality and diversity in their leadership ranks.
Four young inspiring women gave some insight views on how they combat gender inequality at the workplace.
It’s time for women to have an equal share of power and decision-making at all levels.

Datuk A.Kamal Abdul Rahman is a distinguished finance professional with over 30 years of extensive experience in banking, loan management, and financial services.
Married to Datin Rozy Abdul Raof with three adult children.
Beginning his career shortly after completing high school, Datuk Kamal quickly advanced through the ranks in the banking sector, demonstrating exceptional expertise in loan portfolio oversight.
He then pursued his education and holds a Bachelor of Finance degree from Charleston, South Carolina, and an MBA in International Finance from Washington, D.C., underscoring his strong academic foundation in finance and global financial management.
Datuk Kamal’s banking career commenced as a bank officer specializing in loans at a foreign bank in Kuala Lumpur, where he swiftly rose to the position of Assistant Vice President responsible for managing a significant loan portfolio. His leadership and strategic skills earned him recognition and respect within the industry.
In addition to his banking achievements, Datuk Kamal served as the Director of Airport Kristal Centre Sdn Bhd, successfully managing retail operations at key Malaysian airports including Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), Subang International Terminal 3, and Penang International Airport. This role showcased his versatility and capability in overseeing complex business operations beyond traditional finance.
Beyond corporate leadership, Datuk Kamal has been an active consultant and advisor in financial and management services, with a specialization in securing loans, bridging finance, and capital placement funds. His consultancy work includes involvement in major development projects such as a significant initiative on Langkawi Island.
Datuk Kamal also traveled to Washington, D.C. alongside Datin Rozy Abdul Raof, reflecting their collaborative efforts and shared commitment to international business and cultural exchange.
